Anthony Johnson’s Candidacy Announcement
I bring to you with this candidacy platform, responsible, accountable and sensitive leadership, which is lacking in the present administration. Responsible leadership that will monitor the actions of deputies, functions of the departments, quality of service to citizens, and ensure safety of the citizens and security of civil offices and the court staff. There is a desperate need for accountable leadership that will provide proper use of your tax dollars and proper use of equipment that is paid for with your tax dollars. Sensitive leadership is crucial when it comes to areas such as the Shreveport citizens, city court and hiring and firing deputies.
It has been estimated for the last 20 years, a number of Shreveport Police Officers that have sought, pursued and campaigned to gain control of the Shreveport City Marshal’s office without having any experience. Currently there is one retired Shreveport Police Officer candidate, Donald Gaut, that has entered in an effort to continue their pursuit to gain control of the City Marshal’s office and gain a second retirement check. The citizens have not elected a former Shreveport Police Officer because there is no desire to have two Shreveport Police Departments, with one of them bearing the name of the Shreveport City Marshal’s office, while operating like the Shreveport Police Department. I am a former Shreveport City Marshal Deputy with the knowledge and experience necessary to move the City Marshal’s office forward.
With my years of experience in working as a Shreveport City Marshal, I have knowledge of the many problems that exist. The years I was away from the City Marshal’s office has given me plenty of time to work on solutions to the existing problems. It will require someone with experience and a full working knowledge of how to address the specifics of these problems. I believe, if given the opportunity to be the next City Marshal, I will be able to implement the solutions with transparency to create growth in the City Marshalls office that the city can be proud of.
As the next Shreveport City Marshal, I would like to have an independent audit to reveal the current conditions. This is public information and it will be open to the public, so we all will know where we are at and where we are going through transparency.
With over 25 years of law enforcement experience. I have a strong desire to commit to serving the community through law enforcement with a solution-oriented approach to the problems that arise and confront our communities. Elect me, Anthony Johnson on November 3rd as your next Shreveport City Marshal.
